Re-naming....

...is really what I should do. This year my brand new class of HU-students (i.e. the Humanities Programme) just started reading some great titles: Face, Big Mouth Ugly Giril, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and 10 Things I Hate About Me. They will get to discuss their books and create their own group blogs, so that the discussion can be ongoing, actually. I have hopes of getting other students to read & comment, adding other ideas and perspectives. Literature is always a rewarding source for food for thought!

Getting started - and getting behind!

Haha, by suggesting this to my students I quickly learned that quite a few of them are already familiar with blogs... OK, I am not surprised. Still, I hope that by using a blog for the Book Clubs they will find it more rewarding - it is extremely easy for me to respond quickly by leaving a comment or two at the end of the day. Feels like a great start!

Getting started...

So, tomorrow my natural science yr1 students will get to attend their first book club session with me. They are reading a number of different titles, and they will get to discuss the first chapters of their books with class mates reading the same title. The next step for them is to publish their discussion - on a blog of their own. Hopefully, this will appeal to them!
-I should rather say appeal to you, Nv1d! What do you think, spontaneoulsy?
